Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Testosterone Replacement Therapy in Kansas
Testosterone is one of the most important male hormones, however, as men age, the level of testosterone decreases. Approximately 2-4% of men over the age of 40 are estimated to have low testosterone levels. Low testosterone in men including symptoms such as reduced sexual interest and fatigue can be treated using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The TRT is an initiative aimed at restoring normal levels of testosterone to alleviate the symptoms of fatigue, reduced libido, muscle wastage and mood swings that are associated with lower levels of testosterone in males.
Why should it be treated?
Low testosterone levels mean that the body is not producing enough of the hormone and this is why it requires TRT in order to help a man reclaim his vitality, ambition and strength. As such, TRT relieves these symptoms, improves physical conditions, makes positive effects to mental health, and prolongs the quality of life. This improves its metabolic actions in management of energy, sexual function, moods and so on making day to day functioning and even health good. Studies indicate that about 60-70% of men receiving TRT experience significant improvements in symptoms such as fatigue, low libido, and mood disturbances.

Long-term studies suggest that TRT can be effective for up to 5 years or more, with ongoing monitoring necessary to manage potential side effects and ensure treatment efficacy.

How do we treat it?

Pellets are implanted under the skin for gradual, long-term testosterone delivery with minimal upkeep.

Approximately 2-4% of men over the age of 40 are estimated to have low testosterone levels.

What are the side effects?
Some of the possible side effects of TRT include: Acne, increase in red blood cell count, fluid retention, mood swings and possibly aggravation of sleep apnea. It may also influence fertility and cause increased chances of problems with the prostate gland. Close follow up with a physician assists in controlling these risks and to assess that the therapy continues to be useful and secure.
